A note from Susan
Welcome to Oxford. I’ve lived here for more than 50 years.
I built this guide the way I wish every town had one: honest, detailed, and written by someone who knows it from the inside. I’ve spent more than 25 years helping Connecticut homeowners sell their homes, and more than 50 years living, raising a family, and working in Oxford and the surrounding towns.
Whether you are considering a move to the Naugatuck Valley, or getting ready to sell the home you have loved for decades, I hope this site saves you time and gives you a real sense of what living here feels like.
Sincerely, Susan Hotchkiss

Life in Oxford
A small town with room to breathe
Oxford sits at the western edge of the Naugatuck Valley, a town of wooded hills, stone walls, and winding country roads where more than half the landscape stays open and green. It is a place where the seasons are real: vivid autumn foliage, quiet snowbound winters, and busy town greens in summer.
The town was incorporated in 1798, and its historic villages, Oxford Center and Quaker Farms, still give it a settled, unhurried character. Yet Route 67 and Route 188 tie the town to the region, and the highway network puts New Haven, Waterbury, and Danbury within a short drive.
